What is the proper method of meat distribution in Islam?


During the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Muslims execute the essential religious ritual known as qurbani. Meat from an animal killed as part of Qurbani is given to various people and organizations.

The meat should generally be split into three equal portions, one for the individual performing the Qurbani, one for their family, and one for the less fortunate.

Who Is Entitled to Qurbani Meat?

The people who are less wealthy and in need are the ones that receive the majority of the Qurbani meat. It can be distributed to anybody who is seen as being poor, including people, families, and philanthropic groups that help the less fortunate.

The goal is to make sure that the meat reaches people who might not have the resources to purchase it frequently.

What Age Does Qurbani Fard Occur?

The requirement to conduct Qurbani is frequently connected to the Islamic maturity age, which is widely understood to be puberty. Once a person enters puberty, they are in charge of carrying out their religious duties, including performing Qurbani if they have the means to do so.

How Many Qurbanis Are Per Family?

Which Animals Are Acceptable for Sacrifice?

For Qurbani, some animals may be sacrificed according to Islamic law. Cows, sheep (including goats and lambs), and camels are acceptable species. These animals must fulfill a number of requirements, including being in good health, defect-free, and of the necessary age. 

Cows must be at least two years old, sheep must be at least one year old, and camels must be at least five years old, depending on the type of animal.
