Global Awareness Campaign Against Drug Addiction Begins

Pakistan joins the project, as do all other SCO members.

One million people in Pakistan suffer from drug addiction, which affects 350 million people worldwide. In Pakistan, the number of those who are impacted grows by 500,000 per year.

The International Day against Drug Abuse, marked on June 26th, aims to prevent drug addiction and educate young people about its negative effects. Out of the almost 7 billion individuals that live on the planet, about 4 billion are between the ages of 15 and 64, with an addiction rate of 7%.

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) are working together in Pakistan to launch a worldwide campaign against drug addiction. From June 26 to July 9, a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of drug addiction will be held as part of this program. The initiative wants to engage young people from all across the nation by encouraging them to share content on social media platforms, such as tales, films, or written postings, that emphasizes drug addiction prevention and encourages a healthy lifestyle.

The goal of this campaign is to raise young people's awareness of the dangers of drug addiction. The top publications will be honored, and the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs will thank young people for their efforts with letters of gratitude.
