Huawei Participates in Pakistan's Broader Digital Transformation




Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Pakistan Hank Shao stated at the recent 2023 Pakistan International Energy Summit that Pakistan is currently experiencing a period of Internet and digital services boom and that Huawei Cloud is actively contributing to the growth of Pakistan's digital economy.

Huawei has employed 3,200 locals in total, with a localization rate as high as 91%, since entering the Pakistani market in 1998. In 2018, the newly founded "Huawei Technical Support Center" started offering remote technical assistance services to foreign nations.

Shao mentioned that Huawei Cloud primarily serves major government and corporate customers, spanning sectors including government, education, energy, and telecommunications. Huawei has made considerable strides in recent years in training Pakistan's bright young people to better efficiently take advantage of these prospects. Talent development was cited as the key to the sustainability of Digital Pakistan by initiatives like the Huawei ICT Academy, Seeds for the Future, and the international ICT competition, which the business considers as the country's inevitable direction.

Through collaborative training with colleges and universities, we are able to export more than 5,000 technical talents annually for Pakistan's whole ICT industry, according to Shao. We also anticipate more local talent in the cloud area to support Pakistan's digital future.

The MD has announced that on June 20, Huawei will hold Cloud Canival Pakistan, which will include themes including DevOps, AI, and BigData while also introducing new blueprints for regional partners and development communities.
