The OceanGate's safety departments have revealed that the submersible has seven backup systems in case of crises in light of the recent Titan submersible catastrophe, which claimed five lives in the deep ocean depths.
According to David Pogue of CBS News, who participated in the OceanGate Titan trip last year, the submersible has seven backup systems set up. With the use of sandbags and the removal of lead pipes to boost buoyancy, the safety systems are incorporated to assist with rising to the surface.
In order to promote resurfacing, the backup also involves the deployment of an inflated balloon. Pogue said that the device was designed to function even while the passengers were unconscious.
According to David Pogue, the Titan submarine may have experienced a hull breach or lost all power to contact, which caused the submersible to detonate quickly.
